Where the Hell is Matt?

Hey there, I noticed you, you must be new here :) Here is an intro page into the site. If you liked this or other articles you can subscribe to my RSS feed and follow me on Twitter and stay updated if new stuff arrives.

Alright, I thought I focus a little more on articles and not on videos, but this one is just too great. It fills you up with joy, so I thought I have to share this dicovery with you. I found this one over at the nice site Attractionmindmap.com . It’s Matt showing that people are joyful all over the world, doing the silly dancing with Matt. Very inspirational. Have fun watching it! :)

Can you imagine a nicer symbolisation of unity? The video is also available on Youtube . You can check out his website here: Where the Hell is Matt?

Opening of the Book-Club

Wouldn’t it be nice to discuss the book we are currently reading together and so even enhancing the benefits we can get from it? I just opened the Book-Club and entered the recent, current and possibly upcoming books. The idea is as follows:

  1. We suggest the next book for the Book-Club and select one (maybe by vote or mutual agreement)
  2. We set a time period (usually several weeks, depending on the book)
  3. We will have a post for each chapter of the book (once each week) to discuss it’s content via comments
  4. In the end we rate the book and write a review into the Book-Club

Have a look around in the Book-Club , there are several great books I read in the last month already, for instance The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey or A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhart Tolle . We are currently reading Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior by David R. Hawkins .

By the way, the Book-Club is powered by the Now Reading Plug-in by Rob Miller .

TED.com with Jill Bolte Taylor’s stroke of insight

The amazing website TED.com , which really lives up to its tagline "Ideas worth spreading" is hosting a "Technology, Entertainment, Design Conference" in Monterey/California and the best talks are available as video there. You can find really inspiring talks there from poeple like Al Gore , Ray Kurzweil , Lost-Creator J.J. Abrams and many others. Really worth a look.

In February this year there was a talk by brain scientist Jill Bolte Taylor called "My stroke of insight ". In the very moving talk she describes a stroke in her brain which totally shut down the left hemisphere of her brain. Then the very interesting thing happening was, despite that she could not talk or recognize any numbers, that she experienced something like a spiritual awakening. What she called Nirvana means the enlightened state or as buddhists describe it as "the perfect peace of the mind that is free from craving, anger and other afflictive states. This peace, which is in reality the fundamental nature of the mind, is revealed when the root causes of the afflictive states are dissolved." (Wikipedia)

Several weeks and a lot of attention later, Jill Bolte Taylor was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey on her Soul Series . What seemed to be happening was that her mind shut off the shatter and noice of thinking and went into the state which usually will be experienced through deep meditation and spiritual experiences, realizing Oneness with all. And she shares this stroke of insight as one of the most important insights that could happen to a human being.

Awakeblogger

Opening of CANEIblog.com

Note: The blog was later renamed to AwakeBlogger.com .

This is the first post on my new blog dedicated to CANEI.

CANEI means Constant And Never Ending Improvement, a philosophy or a way of living for continuous openness, learning, improvement and growth. It is evolutionary: through the openness and willingness to move ahead an upward spiral is created, which will empower our life and personal development.

So this is nothing fancy, since usually everybody is trying to get ahead on something, may it be to find a right job, to find new friends of contacts, to be more successful and have more drive, getting more effective in what we are doing or to find out more about ourselves.

The origin of CANEI is derived from the Japanese word Kaizen , which is popular especially in business. But the philosophy can be applied to all aspects of life, especially on a personal level.

This includes all wishes, desires and goals we have in all areas of our life, may it be on a personal level or in our career. The principles of CANEI can be applied to grow our mind, body, health, energy, finances and belongings, social life and our spirit.

On this personal level CANEI means nothing else as Personal Development which is the freeing of ourselves and unfolding of our human potential. This needs personal growth and then growth is the way we become the creator of our life. The “ultimate goal” of CANEI is of course the ultimate personal fulfilment: self-realization.

This is the purpose of this blog.

I will try to make this blog as practical as possible, so that everybody can get benefits from it, wherever you are in your life. This blog shows ways to improve your life situation and have fun with it, since you can experience the joy of your own advancement and success. By practical I mean to try to avoid getting to far ahead and to give real entry-points to everyone, so that you can get a real value for your way out of this blog.

This blog is just starting, so it is still a little experimental and also lacking contant at the moment of this posting. But I will continue to add content from now on.

You can find out more about myself in the About-Page .
